Help your fridge cope with Dubai heat
- Leave a gap of a few centimetres behind and above the fridge for air to move.
- Vacuum the condenser coils every few months, more often in dusty areas.
- Check door gaskets by closing the door on a sheet of paper. It should grip.
- Set the fridge to 3 – 5 °C and the freezer to −18 °C.
- Let hot food cool before putting it in, and don't block the air vents with food.
Fridge Repair FAQs
Why is my fridge not cooling when the freezer is cold?
In frost-free fridges, cold air is made in the freezer and blown into the fridge. If the evaporator fan has failed or the coil is iced over because of a defrost fault, the fridge warms up while the freezer stays cold.
How much does fridge gas refilling cost?
It depends on the refrigerant type and where the leak is. We find and repair the leak first, then quote the refill. Refilling without fixing the leak is a waste of money.
Can you repair inverter compressor fridges?
Yes. We diagnose inverter boards and inverter compressors on Samsung, LG and other models, and repair or replace the faulty part.
Should I unplug my fridge if it stops cooling?
Keep the doors closed and move perishable food to a cool box if you can. If you hear clicking every few minutes from the back, switch it off at the wall and call us. That often means the compressor is failing to start.
